Brief 4: Message and Delivery: Research

I need to start to filter my research down so I have one main focus for the next delivery breif, there are many areas that I feel I could go into but the two that I am thinking on focusing on are: 

Do people actually care? do people actually care about half the things they see on Facebook? If they don't why do they bother going on it? Are people too noisy these days?  Is Facebook a good or bad thing? 

Statistics of Facebook. Facebook has some crazy statistics that I could focus on. 

I wanted to know a bit more about why people find social networking so addictive. On Facebook I have messaged some Facebook famous people to see if I would get a reaction, I probably won't but it is worth a shot.
This is what I will ask them

I'm doing a project at uni about Facebook, and I'm trying to find out what people find attractive about Facebook, just a couple of questions really 
What is it that you like about Facebook? 
Do you think Facebook has made you more or less social as a person? 
What do you think your life would be like without Facebook?

I will most probably not get a reply, but it is interesting looking at their profiles. Most of them go to 'meet ups' where they meet up with other Facebook famous people that also have thousands of followers, so they do socialise more.

I will post again if they do reply. 

One of my closest friends from school is now what they call 'Instagram famous' she has over 2500 followers on Instagram and her photos get 100's of likes within hours. 

Above are a few print screens of the images on her Instagram, she has a very stylised theme that a lot of Instagram famous people have, trying to keep it as minimal as possible. 

I wanted to know abit more so I texted her a few questions. 

I know she has made many friends through Instagram she has made that many friends on Instagram that she has now deleted Facebook and Twitter and andy other social networks, so she can focus on Instagram  As being a friend of someone who is so famous on a social networking app it is sort of frustrating, you tend to find they are on their phones alot. However I think she has now developed some great photography skills, as she thinks a lot about colour and composition when taking her photos.
